My name is Artis C. Newton, Jr. I was born to the union of Artis C. Newton, Sr. & Dorothy H. Newton on May 22, 1972 in Richmond County. I became very sick with (SPINAL MENINGITIS) which left me became deaf by the age of two (2). I attended Central North Carolina School for the Deaf Elementary School in Greensboro. I transfered to Western North Carolina School for the Deaf High School in Morganton, North Carolina. I also attended Tennessee Temple University for one year.
I gave my life to the Lord in 1985. I realized there was a call on my life and subjected myself to the will of God by answering the call in 1989. Currently, I am the Youth Pastor of Bible Way Pentecostal Holiness Church where my father & mother are Bishop & Pastor. I had also traveled within the state of North Carolina and abroad.
In 1995, the Lord allowed the Perry family to relocate to Rockingham, North Carolina from Detroit, Michigan. While this family was holding tent revivals, I met a lovely young lady who is now my wife, the mother of my children, my interpreter & my voice. Roslynn F. Newton & I were wed in May of 1997. We are the proud parents of four (4) girls, Princess, Na'Tasha, Ar'Tisha, and Si'Tra.
I had birthed The Silent Praise Ministries which is a ministry for the hearing and the deaf, the Newtons believed that everyone should have the opportunity to hear the word, whether it's hearing with their ears (voice of wife interpreter) or with their eyes (sign Language).
I had faced many obstacles in my life but through the grace of God and my family, I am triumphant and victorious. My motto that I abides by and wants others to know is simply: "When things don't go your way, don't stop praising Him."
