Lifeway Christian Bookstores stashes magazine under the counter- Porn...

Greetings in the name of the Lord. I have been a fan of Gospel Today Magazine for a long time. I usually purchase the magazine at Lifeway Christian Bookstores. This month, i walked into the store and didn;t see it where it usually is. I assumed they were sold out and left the store. Last week, a classmate of mine said she went to the store to and didn't see them and asked if they were out. She said the clerk reached under the counter and retrieved a copy. I assume that it was hidden because the Southern Baptist Convetion doesn't agree with women preachers in the church. I find this appauling. Maybe this means that Barack Obama has just won the election!? Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Pink Ribbon Shows Support for Breast Cancer
It's a disease that affects one in eight women if a woman lives long enough.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.>br>
Doctor Greg Boone is a surgeon at Licking Memorial Hospital and hopes one thing will come out of this year's Breast Cancer Awareness Month. "That we can raise everyone's awareness. Even those people who have not been touched by it. So that we can hopefully either prevent the disease from happening or find it at its earliest possible stage," says Greg Boone, general Surgeon at Licking Memorial Hospital. Boone says breast cancer can appear out of nowhere and it's the "un-luck" of the draw if you get it. "We can't prevent breast cancer from happening. It's a common illness that will affect one in eight women in this country if they live long enough." Boone tells us breast cancer's impact can be minimized if detected early and there are three ways to do that. "If we can detect it early, then it can be cured, and there are really three keys to early detection. Self exams on a monthly basis, see your physician for a yearly exam, have screening mammography on a regular basis." National Breast Cancer Awareness Month has been around for over 20 years.
National Mammography Day is October 17th.

MALE BREAST CANCER AWARENESS GROUP Lowell Gere, founder and president of Bridging the Gap states the importance of support for men diagnosed with this traditionally women's disease. According to the American Cancer Society, approximately 1% of breast cancers diagnosed will be among the male population. Often times, men wait to be diagnosed until it is too late and the disease has spread. Men often times feel embarrassment being diagnosed with a traditionally "feminine" disease and are hesitant to openly discuss it. Bridging the Gap provides a way for men to voice their concerns and receive much needed support. Last October, Becky Olson, cofounder and president of Breast Friends spoke at the Pink Ribbon Society Luncheon in Indiana where she addressed the issue of men with breast cancer. It takes a lot of courage for men to come forward and openly discuss the disease. For information on how to start a chapter in your city, or just to find a friendly and supportive voice, please email Lowell at:lagere@earthlink.net directly. WHAT IS MALE BREAST CANCER? Breast cancer is a malignant tumor that has developed from cells of the breast. This normally occurs in men as well as women. It is estimated by the American Cancer Society that in 2005, about 1690 men will be disagnosed and about 460 will die of breast cancer. SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF MALE BREAST CANCER:

Back to School!
Posted On 09/08/2008 @ 11:52:PM

Peace and many blessings! Some of you may know that i am a student at Huntsville Bible College for three years now. Well, the fall 08 schedule has started and i am back in school working on my BA in Theology. Although i have not been called to preach the gospel, i have been called to the field of evangelism and teaching bible study. I am having the time of my life in college, as it was a dream of mine to retrun to college in Alabama and God has truly blessed. I am asking for prayers again for a blessed semester as i go forth in the name of Jesus to learn all that i can so i can be a bolder soldier for the building of the kingdom! Thank you all for your prayers and encouragement thus far! God bless and i will continue to keep you lifted in prayer!

Praise the Lord, Saints!
I pray Gods richest blessing be with you all!
I will be traveling to Memphis for the Progressive National Baptist Convention on sunday, so keep me and my traveling sister in your prayers. It is an exciting time for me, as i have been longing to go for many years and the Lord has blessed. Pray that the Lord will move in a mighty way and reveal what God has in store for the edification of His people of God and the Nation.

Praise Report

Fast and pray! Praise the Lord, Saints! Thank You Jesus!
Thank you all for your prayers!
As some of you know, i can fast from things other than food because i am on medication. (We are going to move that too!) I spent the last few days with my heart bent in prayer. I surrounded myself with gospel music and bible tv. I continued to pray for others. Well, my daughter called this morning. Her fiance went to visit his mother and there was a final check from his former employer  in the mail he had not expected and his first unemployment check! And my daughter gets paid tomorrow! Didn't God show up and show out?!!! I knew He would fix it, but i didn't know how! It has taken me 30 minutes to type this, i have been dancing and praising all morning! You can't tell me that prayer don't change things! Thank you, mighty prayer warriors of the Most High God! Just had to share. Have a blessed and beautiful day!

A Praying Place
Posted On 03/13/2008 @ 05:34:PM
Do you have a Praying Place in your home? A place where you can go and sit and commune with the Lord? A closet, a secret place, just for you and the Lord?
With all the hustle and bustle we face everyday, we need a place for quiet meditation on a daily basis.

The alter is a place to offer up praise and prayer requests to God. I have an alter that is my praying place, where i place my prayer requests upon and give God the Glory and Thanks for all He has done in my life.

I have my alter dressed with things that are special to my prayer life and my spirituality. It is a place for prayer, meditation, reflection and soul- searching. I have things on it that bring me joy and peace and beauty. A Bible. A piece of kente cloth. Pictures of my family and ancestors. Fresh flowers, stones, water fountains. Ceramic figurines. On the bookshelf are reading materials, videos and music. NOTE: I DO NOT PRAY TO THESE OBJECTS! They enhance and nurture my life and Honor the marvelous Hand of God!

Each persons praying place or alter, may look different from mine. There is no set way to decorate it. You can use a small table or the corner of a dresser or night stand. You can make it as large or as small as you like. You could also add incense, oils, candles, ceramic items of spiritual interest. I hope you enjoy your alter as much as i enjoy mine! KEEP IT SIMPLE AND HONOR GOD!

The Great Commission- Evangelism
Posted On 03/13/2008 @ 12:30:AM

The Great Commission - A Personal Calling
In the Great Commission, Jesus calls every Christian to step out in faith and spread the Good News. This is faith in action! People who obey this command change their spiritual lives forever! It could be spreading the Good News to a neighbor or moving to another country to reach the people there. It could be sharing with less fortunate kids down the street or spreading the Word in a town two hours away. Wherever we go, every faithful Christian is compelled through obedience to share the Gospel. If you're a believer in Jesus Christ, where has He called you to go? Who has God put on your heart to share the gift of salvation? What small or large steps can you take, with the knowledge that Christ will be by your side, "to make disciples of all the nations"?

The Great Commission - A Personal Instruction
The Great Commission is one of the most significant passages in the Holy Bible. First, it's the last recorded personal instruction given by Jesus to His disciples. Second, it's a special calling from Jesus Christ to all His followers to take specific action while on this earth. The Great Commission is found in the Gospel of Matthew.

"And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen. (Matthew 28:18-20)
